Why the decision is easier than it feels
Many couples spend weeks searching for the one song that has to do everything: move people, be danceable, suit both of you, bore nobody. That is a lot to ask of three minutes of music.
The relief lies in an observation from many wedding nights: your guests remember the moment, not the title. The two of you alone on the floor, the light, the silence before. Which song was playing, hardly anyone knows a year later. Whether the evening carried afterwards, everyone does.
Three ways to the song when you cannot agree

In Mallorca the first dance usually begins around 10 pm — after dinner, once the sun has gone down over the sea and the garden lives for the first time on ambient light alone. That is no accident in the running order; it is the moment I build the light for. The floor lies quiet, the guests stand at the edge, and your song is the only thing to be heard. What decides the night is not the dance itself but the transition after it. If your guests do not come onto the floor in the first songs after your dance, the whole evening becomes hard work. That is why I plan with you not only your song but the ten after it: the moment your dance turns into your party — every generation, one floor.
